Bought this for our 8 year old neighbor boys birthday as he is SO into weather, probably has something to do with when he can wear shorts and play soccer! He is an above average reader and this was perfect for him. The book is very interesting and we learned a lot reading through it before gifting it! There are some fun and easy experiments included as well. If you have a future weather forecaster in your life, this is really worth picking up!!
This is a great book for the budding weatherman or weatherwoman in the family. It is written for the child and has numerous enjoyable illustrations. It is a perfect gift for an 8 year old, I believe, for introduction into weather observation.Pros: Just right for children to start weather knowledge. Fun for children. A great gift that makes the child think.Cons: I think the book could have had more text... too much white space.
I purchased this book for both of my 9 yr old grandsons. They both have weather issues and I thought this might help themunderstand some of the weather conditions and what causes them. Both guys love the book and will refer to it when theysee different clouds. Something that wasn't electronic seems to have caught their interest.

The writing is easy to understand and the authors have activities children can use to make their own weather tools, observe weather, and record their findings. My principal purchased several copies for me to use in my classroom.
