About the Author
Erling E. Kildahl is the youngest and only surviving child of the author. He fell in love with the theater as a child and later enrolled in the Pasadena Playhouse School of Theater. Awarded a masters degree in 1946 he directed for two years before coming to Purdue University as an Instructor and Director, and later as professor.

This interesting narrative takes the reader to a time when even the simple things in life were all but unattainable
Gave as a gift - he enjoyed it!
What a charming, loving story. The author points out the obvious hardships to be expected, but the love of family prevail. It flows nicely. I am interested in my Norwegian genealogy and my relatives experienced many of what happened in this precious book.
